The Club was formed in 1978 as the Newcastle Diahatsu Club and is one of the oldest 4WD clubs in Newcastle and the Hunter region. In 1984 the Club changed its name to the Newcastle and Districts Four Wheel Drive Club Incorporated with a new and distinct round logo. In 2014 the logo was revised to reflect and emphasise club activities.Our Aims:
Newcastle and Districts Four Wheel Drive Club Inc.is a family oriented 4WD club, affiliated to the State Association, Four Wheel Drive NSW and ACT. Club trips cater for novice and experienced drivers, covering as many different aspects of four wheel driving as possible and are designed to provide Members with a variety of destinations and 4WD experiences. Trips are held on existing roads, tracks or fire trails, over all parts of Australia. Owners of All Wheel Drive vehicles are welcome to join the Club and participate in trips appropriate to their vehicle.
Participation in club 4WD trips is an excellent way to enjoy our wide country and further improve driving or other 4WD related skills.
Newcastle and Districts Four Wheel Drive Club Inc. has as its aims:
To promote and enjoy safe Four Wheel Driving;
To promote 4WD touring as a legitimate form of recreation;
To promote environmentally responsible 4WD touring;
To educate the public and other 4WD users in the correct use of their vehicles, in caring for and respecting the environment;
To enjoy the Australian bush;
To enjoy the company of other like-minded people.How To Join:
Newcastle and Districts Four Wheel Drive Club Inc. is an Association bound by State legislation. The Club is affiliated with both Four Wheel Drive NSW & ACT and Four Wheel Drive Australia. All members are required to abide by our Constitution & By-Laws, and the Codes of Conduct issued by Four Wheel Drive Australia. The Club has a strong commitment to responsible & safe four wheel driving. Unless exempted by the Committee, new members are required to participate in our Basic Driver Awareness program at the earliest opportunity. To become a member:
You must have a road registered Four Wheel Drive or All Wheel Drive vehicle with either comprehensive or third party property insurance. You must attend three club events including at least one 4WD trip - this allows you to get the feel of the club and the members.
