Newcastle and Districts Four Wheel Drive Club Inc.

This is intended to offer some information about the new website and how members can make use of it.

While the main aim of the website is to provide information about our club to prospective members, some other goals are:

• allow members to update the content
• trial an online newsletter, given the difficulties of editing a printed magazine
• enable members on extended trips to keep in touch

Our old site at geocities has many limitations. The new one, hosted by SiteGround is based on a modern "content management system" named Drupal. Options have been configured to allow members who are logged on, to add and edit the following types of content:

1. Book page
2. Page
3. Story
4. Blog

The content is easy for members to add or change. Mostly it is as simple as typing, just as you would in a text editing program such as Windows Notepad. However some understanding of the menu settings is required when creating new content (not for editing existing content), and a little bit of basic knowledge of HTML is required to add pictures, lists and tables etc.

As time permits, I will add the required information below.
