Thank you for visiting Newcastle and Districts Four Wheel Drive Club's website.
Visitors who own a four wheel drive, or all wheel drive vehicle are always welcome to club meetings and appropriate trips within their capabilities.
The purpose of our Club is to encourage the responsible use of 4WD vehicles. The Club supports the Tread Lightly campaign, and is working with various bodies to try to regain access to public lands.
The Club has a strong commitment to responsible and safe four wheel driving. We conduct our own driver awareness program. Club delegates are actively involved with Four Wheel Drive NSW and ACT, and the Hunter Region Sub Committee.
Club trips are graded on the degree of difficulty that may be encountered during the trip so members can choose what type of trip they may enjoy. Trip focus is always on safety and responsible four wheel driving. Most years, one or more longer trips are planned to locations such as Cape York and the Simpson Desert.
It is necessary for all members to have basic recovery equipment prior to driver training, and going on a trip. A UHF CB radio is required for communications - the club has hand held units that can be loaned to visitors on trips.
If you are interested in becoming a member of Newcastle and Districts Four Wheel Drive Club, you must attend a minimum of three club events/meetings, including at least one trip ('F' and 'E' Grade excluded) from the trip calendar. This is required so that you get to know us and are happy with the club before making a financial commitment.
There is a one off joining fee of $40 plus an annual fee of $55 for a single membership or $60 for a family membership (children with their own vehicle are not included in the family membership).
New members are requested to participate in our Driver Awareness Program at their earliest opportunity.
